PPP Blog Battle Royale: iRobot Baby Scan

Concave Trap
This stems from my own creative mind in light of the PPP Blog Battle Royale.

We all hear and read about the tragic incidents involving the death of children in cars. My mother-in-law recently told me about a mother who traveled to work while her infant remained in the back seat of her car. She had forgotten to drop her child off at daycare. Do we not hear this story time and time again? It's time we do something to prevent this from happening!

If I were to create a robot for the company iRobot, I would create the iRobot Baby Scan. This little device would easily install into any car, whether it be the roof of the car or the side. It would be able to detect a car door shutting. Once the car door shut another adult inside the vehicle would have the option to simply press a button to shut the scanner off. However, if no one was to shut the scan device off it would only take a moment for the iRobot Baby Scan to do a full laser scan of the inside of the car. Once the iRobot Baby Scan detected that there was indeed a child inside of the car it would sound a distinctive alarm set apart from all other alarms. I would encourage a very loud system because the life of a child is far more important than the surrounding environment in which the car is parked.

Not only would this product be beneficial to busy, working parents, but it would benefit the drivers of daycare providers as well. We've all heard one too many stories of a child being left inside a daycare van, too. Eventually I'd hope the measure of success with iRobot Baby Scan would branch off into a package system for Motor Companies around the world. The individual cost of the iRobot Baby Scan would be $100.00, which includes the price of installation.

If this system were to be created, think of all the little lives it would save. It could be more than just a creative fancy in my mind. It could become a reality. In fact, we're in the month of August now. Look at all the heatwaves. Children are dying in this heat. Laser equipment has come a long way. This is so possible, and I'm truly serious. As a parent my heart is in this.
